...plus ISCC now offers guidance and assistance to individuals seeking to establish a “new proprietary pet styling school”. This unique program provides assistance with application for state licensing including complete school catalog design and compilation of all required forms and data.
Whether you’re just starting or already operating an existing school, we would be pleased to assist you in your pursuit of excellence.
ISCC upholds the highest standards within the Pet Styling Industry and provides balanced and varied programs to keep you current with the latest trends and innovations.
Who is eligible to become an ISCC Certified School?
All trade schools within the pet grooming and styling profession are eligible to become an ISCC Certified School provided they meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be a State Approved School.
- Must meet all local, state and federal health & safety regulations.
- Curriculum must be consistent with the high standards of ISCC. The minimum requirements are 360 clock hours which must provide for instruction in the following areas:
- Canine/Feline Skin & Hair Anatomy
- Topical Conditioning of Canine/Feline Skin & Coat
- Equipment selection, maintenance & ergonomics
- Ectoparasites and Insecticides
- Canine/Feline Anatomy
- Injury Prevention, 1st Aid & CPR for Pets
- Petcare Facility & Equipment Sanitation
- Common Zoonotic Diseases
- Animal Behavior & Handling Techniques
- Canine/Feline Breed Specific Characteristics and Identification
- Basic and Advanced Scissor Techniques
- Basic and Advanced Clipper Techniques
- Basic Handstripping Techniques
- The Art of Pet Styling (Geometrics In Canine Design)
